Wondering Wednesdays, Baby Acres, and The Two Whys…

This post begins the rough draft of the first Chapter of my current non-fiction WiP, Baby Acres: Making Society Suck Less in 60 Years.     The overall goal is now to explain why we need both equ. + justice, & why in 4 phases.  This chapter will transition to a chapter (2-5) for each phase, showing what Phases I-IV might look like as part of a possible roadmap for a fully inclusive society for all of us.  This vision is laid out in the hope that All HumanKind  will eventually have each person’s basic needs  met, without taking anything from anyone, and without violence, intimidation, nor coercion of any kind. 

Chapter I (part 0): why and why

This week I am very tired, and working on getting updating the chapter outlines from their initial 2019 form. 

 

Next week I will continue with the rough draft of the start of my first chapter.  Here is the semi-detailed chapter 1 outline. I tried to use this as the post featured image, but WP kept rejecting it, so I hope that the medical debt image was a decent tie-in of two of the items.

(Note to JYP: I’ve been using and expanding this high level chapter outline  until this post, as I’ve finally filled out the chapter 1 outline, realizing that I was trying to pack too much into chapter one!

Clearly, these statistics indicate a great disparity between groups of individuals struggling with the soaring costs and expenses of medical care. 32.4% of the people surveyed have some type of financial burden with medical care, and this does not bother those who are in positions to help ease these burdens. Medical care dominos into and adversely affects so many other areas we don’t even realize it’s connected to.

    Where is the compassion? Where is the empathy? Where are the resources to help ease such atrocious burdens? 😖😩😞

    1. Thank you for posing these questions, Kym: exactly why we need both consumer debt education and universal health care, to prevent this problem, and also libraries to help spread the information, and decent, usable, and safe public transit to get folks there!
      Oh,
      and,
      we are busy, via our books and blogs, building the empathy that will lead to the compassionate resource allocation, right?
      Maybe an empathy blogging circle?

      1. Hmmmm, interesting suggestion. We indeed see the need, we just have to get more folks, especially the influential in our society, on the bandwagon and mobilize our interpersonal and educational resources, and skills. 😏

      When I was a software developer, my team managers often hated my long variable names, but managers ack’d that they could understand the point (we often had project managers who were not tech types, and understood nothing but the budgets for projects we worked on!)

      1. I think long file names that actually describe the file contents are much better than short misleading ones. For example, the concepting deck distributed to the marketing team with “Final” in the file name. Marketing team started treating it as final and making up all sorts of things based on the concepting deck. Concepting deck had no connection to reality whatsoever. Chaos and headaches ensued.

        (I am so happy to be leaving this job and hopefully at some point, this industry)

          I think I need to kick up my search a bit more, and look for a new room to rent, more urgently, since the neighbors are back to opening and closing the windows at 3am again, in addition to midnight and 6am (that window was enough for me to mostly get enough sleep, but now someone’s radio and odd smells are starting to get to me).
          So, yes, I’m feeling a bit better, but no, probably not for long unless I find a new place to live, which saps my energy just thinking about dealing with.
