Learning Via Story: Reviews of B5, Lupin, Hakan:Muhafiz/The Protector, Sihirli Annem, La Casa De Papel/Money Heist, & El Ministerio del Tiempo

I am done reviewing the Netflix series Hakan: Muhafız, and starting to review Sihirli Annem (My Magical Mother) which I have loved since I first saw it in 2004!! Since this will make several sets of shows I am reviewing, it seems time to list them all on one page.

Minbari Mondays, I had been reviewing Babylon 5 (from a Minbari point of view) for quite a while. Now that that is done, I’m finally starting my favorite series of all time, as Ministry Mondays -see Thoughtless Thursdays below for details.

Turkish Tuesdays began in February, with incredible views of both ancient Constantinople, and modern Istanbul, in the two Turkish series’ Hakan: Muhafız (aka The Protector) & Sihirli Annem.

then, we began a Thoughtless, to Two Thought Thursday:La Casa De Papel, aka Money Heist, now linked to several Spanish language show reviews (most recently, EMdT). The Thusday series is now becoming Ministry Mondays, reviewing: El Ministerio del Tiempo. This review series will be on Mondays as soon as both previous series reviews are done.

Fun with languages Fridays was reviewing Lupin: Dans l’ombre d’Arsène (Lupin: In the shadow of Arsène), which is my French Fridays show (waiting desperately for Part 3!!),

Thoughtful Readers:

I hope that you find meaning, as I have, in these shows, and I look forward to hearing what lessons you draw from each of them, Thoughtful Readers.

    1. Oh, you are most, most very welcome! It is a fascinating series, and as I commented either here or in my first review, it is also turning around my perspective on that city: my experience as an EFL teacher there was rather sub-optimal, and after 6 months, I moved down to Izmir. But, much of what I learned up in Istanbul probably helped me adjusting to Izmir, in fact.
      And yes!!

You get many excellent glimpses of this ancient city, from so many perspectives it’s like being back there, almost! Especially now that I understand things that I really only *got* once I lived in Izmir (and a few things that took my years to understand, really, once I no longer lived there).

I worry that some of my later reviews may be a bit rushed, so please do feel free to poke/prod/chide me at those points. I won’t be offended at all!
      🙂
      Very warmest regards,
      Shira
