This was where I wanted to reveal some things that I had been holding back from the reading audience about Isaias since the beginning, trying to drop hints (‘don’t call me Izzy’) to build the tension and curiosity, for this place where I could finally use it. But, as with other scenes I sort of outlined, this one refused to present itself to me when the time came to draft it. I knew, mostly, what this scene needed to do, but there were so many other scenes hanging, and I was so tired, of everything, but also of this story in particular, that I just pooped out, as we used to say, about being so dead tired that you pretty much lie down on the ground and give up. Yet and still, I cannot just give up on this story without even trying to get it out into the world in some form, because something tells me that somebody needs to read this story, and that there is somebody who wants to write this story. I give it with all of the tools I have, to that writer.

I was having trouble, also, with placing the PoV, since Martin/Meir did not have his own PoV scenes because he did not have his own subplot, at least not the way I had outlined the subplots and narrative points of view for each subplot protagonist:
in my grid drawn up before I began to draft, using the advice in several writing books.
