Turkish Tuesdays: Sihirli Annem (My Magical Mother): When Your Mom Really IS a Fairy GodMother…

        Last week, the kids declared war on  the parents privacy.  Who won?

  (As I noted previously, the Youtube video has CCs in English and Turkish…), and having the Closed Captions available makes it easy to go back and read the words missed in listening, greatly speeding my language learning.  I hope it does the same for you.

    Last week, the kids made a plan to stop their dad and new step-mom from having another kid:    by not giving these adults a split-second alone together!

   But they forgot one important thing:  she really is their Fairy step-mother!  b1Son

My gosh, how do I sometimes forget that I am a Fairy!

And so…  b1Bitti

      off to sleep the kids go!!

Next week we will start episode 2:  Turkish Tuesday: Sihirli Annem (s1e2) & Different Is Not Wrong ;

Hoşça Kalın!

    1. Excellent!!

      I’ve seen different episodes on Youtube, Daily Motion, and also back when it was on Kanal D, which moved to Star TV, but I don’t think that the Turkish channels will have other languages. I will be starting episode 2 next week, so tell me where you are in watching it, and if there is an episode that neither of us can find in English or French, I will take the time to translate it scene by scene (which will take quite a few weeks to review, but no worries). There was also a volunteer subtitle website called

      which had text subtitles translated in many languages for most shows. The translations are generally ok, but unless you want to read the transcription and then watch the show, you’d have to use a downloader extension to download the episode from Youtube or Daily Motion, and then drop the srt file into the same folder as the video for your video player (VLC finds it easily, and I think can even find them on its own, nowadays…).
