Not 3, but 4 Musketeers???

This was a book I found highly entertaining, easy to follow, never boring, yet not nearly as profound nor as captivating (read that: thought-provoking) as The Count of Monte-Cristo, and hence, not a book I would purchase to keep at home.  dumas_by_nadar2c_1855
I listened to the book via LibreVox, and the reader was good, except for the fact that, I really hate to say it, I literally had to grit my teeth through the mercifully few sections where she sang (sorry, some folks just do not have good singing voices, and this reader was one of them). But apart from that, the listening experience was ok, saving me the time of reading since I can listen as I clean, cook, eat, and clean.
(yes, in that order, due to slovenly roommates…)

  1. I found the story interesting, as it showed all the intrigues that were/are going on. At that time there was the king, the queen and the cardinal, all having their own different agendas and their own creatures helping them. I got confused at times … 😉

    1. I also loved seeing all of the interwoven connections, never having realized just how complex the palace intrigues could become in even a settled and long-seated monarchy, so I appreciated seeing the different agendas, but it certainly can get confusing -likely even the point, perhaps!
      🙂

I plan to take a bit of a break from the ‘net for the next few days, I hope, just fyi.
      Have a good weekend, B.
