Minbari Mondays, Babylon Squared, and Unstuck in Time

This is the continuation of our fictional letter (reviewing each film and episode of Babylon 5) that I receive each week from Ranger Mayann.

Here is her 22st report:

Nih sakh sh’lekk, sleem wa, Greetings from Tuzanor:

In this report, in your Earth year 2258, it is nearing the end of the second year of operation of the station. Due to the nature of events and persons in this incident, the Anla’Shok has forbidden me to write a letter this week, once again.

From the city of  Tuzanor, on Minbar

Earth year 2278,

Anla’Shok Mayann

Addendum to Ranger Mayann’s report, by Shira: This episode has some great Garibaldi quotes:

“…it’s ok: I finally understand. This is the moment I was born for.”

and then we finally find out more about… Babylon 4!

Then there is a cool breakfast gag, poor Ivanova, and Garibaldi: hide!

A fuller review of this episode is done by Neatnik.

That was part of Ranger Mayann’s letter on the history of the Babylon Project.

See Ranger Mayann’s report from previous weeks here.

includes two ‘imagination-rich’ walking tours, with songs, of Washington, DC. New interviews and research are woven into stories of old struggles shared by both the Jewish and African-American communities in the capital city.

Shared histories are explored from a new perspective of cultural parallels and parallel institution-building which brought the two communities together culturally and historically.

  1. Watching the first season of B5 while knowing Michael O’Hare was struggling with schizophrenia and barely holding himself together sometimes adds to the poignancy of the season. I, having loved a woman who had both schizophrenia and manic-depression, and having lost her to death and her madness, watch O’Hare with great sympathy. JMS, a decent man, created a cover story and maintained O’Hare’s secret until after O’Hare died.
