Saturday Spanish: Learning languages to bring harmony, or Windmills?

I’m recently finished reading a book by the Dalai Lama about harmony, or ethics, sort of. Now, I’ve started again on Don Quixote, per recommendation of my favorite TV (or at least of my favorite European Public Television) show, El Ministerio del Tiempo!

–My updates from the past week:

August 29, 2017 – page 2 1.42% “jajaja: Buenisimo!

I am starting the book from the beginning volume one. I’m really surprised that other people printing the book was only prohibited for the first 10 years from the publication of volume one.” September 9, 2020 – page 3 2.13% “Orlando Furio… Lope de Vega??” September 12, 2020 – page 3 2.13% “Este prólogo me parece interminable…”
I can’t stand another minute of this prologue! At least in paper books you can skip specific pages more easily! Even the Kindle makes it harder to skip …”

I guess it was the custom to put poems before the start of the story, but…
:-(” September 17, 2020 – page 5 3.55% “Sorry, no aguanto lis versos… Cannot take these poems…”

Books, film, and other forms of media, like comic books, aka graphic novels, and music all have a strong effect on how people view the world, giving hope even to the enslaved. So, here are some Action Items in support of literacy and hope that you can take right now:

1.) Download some public domain version of a classic book,

2.) Read a page,

3.) Share your thoughts on that page, perhaps as an update on your GoodReads reading,

4.) Write a novel that references a classic book, tells a good story, and makes a difference. I’m working on that through my historical fantasy #WiP, #WhoByFireIWill. Once published, donate one or more copies to your local public library, as I intend to do.

Other ideas welcome on how to #EndPoverty, #EndHomelessness, & #EndMoneyBail, starting with improving these four parts of our good #PublicDomainInfrastructure:

1. #libraries,

2. #ProBono legal aid and Education,

3. #UniversalHealthCare, and

4. good #publictransport
