Many, if not most, people experiencing homelessness have dealt for years with PTSD and other mental illnesses while being exploited, often, by the very so-called allies who offer to help them. This is one reason we need better community health care, with long term therapy, and a Universal Basic Income.

This is indeed part of why Dr. King called for a Citizen’s Income.

Indeed, it is. Although I like to hope that now, Dr. King would have made that a call for a Universal Basic Income, rather than just Citizens.

With #PTSD and homelessness so closely linked, I do not understand why greater effort has not been made to provide long-term solutions for the entire spectrum of mental disabilities and illnesses, including C-PTSD.
